In 2007, she deployed aboard the USNS Comfort (T-AH 19)
in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The USNS Comfort provided a unique operational medical environment,
and her deployment placed her among healthcare professionals
responsible for delivering care under demanding circumstances.
During this deployment, she provided care to service members and civilians,
contributing to a mission that required technical proficiency,
resilience, compassion, and an ability
to maintain professional standards under pressure.
The experience represented a significant chapter in
her military medical career and reinforced her commitment
to serving those affected by conflict and military operations.
Her career later took her overseas to the U.S. Air Force Hospital in Okinawa, Japan. There, she served as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Division Officer, taking on responsibilities that extended beyond direct patient care into administration, leadership, and military healthcare operations. In 2014, she advanced to the position of Head of the Maternal-Child Nursing Department. This leadership assignment placed her in a position of significant responsibility for maternal and pediatric nursing services. It required the ability to lead healthcare personnel, coordinate clinical operations, maintain professional standards, and ensure the delivery of quality care to military families. Her Okinawa assignment demonstrated her ability to operate successfully in an overseas military healthcare environment while managing both clinical and leadership responsibilities.
